Legal Terminology

This is language that we lawyers use everyday without thinking about it very much. There is a very good reason, however, for using these words in important documents like wills and powers of attorney, because it is a specific language not open to ambiguity of meaning.

This prevents misinterpretation of your last wishes after you are not around to explain what you really wanted to happen to your loved ones or belongings after your death.

Bearing this in mind your will will be written in legal language which you may not be used to, and it is for that reason that we have written a short “legal Dictionary” to explain those unusual, but necessary, words and phrases.
